Sonidero 1.1 is an immersion on sound and electro acoustic music.

At this performance, music of composers from Spain, Argentina, Mexico, South Korea, France and Canada will be diffused with the aim of to take you into the internal structures of sound and its own poetic. Let me to show you through this experience, how the composers curiosity leads us to experiment with the sounds that surround us, or with those we find in our way, and how based on these material we create new sound experiences to make audible some of their internal characteristics, and our special and personal perception and experimentation of these common sounds and the resulting of this in the form of new and more complex sound works.

We work with sound and with the idea of sound, its meanings, its physicality, its possibilities of transformation, of diffusion on space (spacialization), and in this process we find new possibilities to record them, stretch them, reverse them, mix them, transform them, in so many ways as our imagination and the compositional tools we have computers, samplers, filters, software, synthesizers, etc. make it possible. And this because we find a very significant and meaningful experience in sound, its context, the time and space it occupy and the reaction of our own body and conscience when we perceive it. Please come and join me in the experience of sound.

The space that surrounds us could be modeled in many ways, through the use of walls, light,  furniture, etc., but there is another powerful and not very well known way to give different meanings and to model a space, and that is sound. Sound is energy, but is matter, as well, in the sense that is something that exists out of the thought or independently of the spirit. It is perceived not only through the hearing, but also through the contact with our entire body. It affects our conscience in many different ways, giving to each acoustic situation a different meaning, but just because we have the need, an unknown will of that, and this means that sound could be a completely different experience if we try to ignore this will. This we call it in phenomenology: epoché, and is the conscience of

what the physical reality in fact is, without the work of the intellect to give it this or that meaning.

We are constantly surrounded by sound. Our life experience is related day by day with the sounds that surround us, and those we constantly produce, and we are aware of some of all these sounds and we do not in a conscience level about many other. All these sounds are part in every case of a unique and individual space. Thus, we know that we can recall and recreate those spaces with its characteristics sounds. But, what happen if we take sounds that we cannot relate to any space or, if we take sounds related to many different spaces and we put them together into the same one?

We can build new experiences of sound perception through this; we can model in many different ways the space and to affect the audience perception and

reaction through sounds and the sound space that surrounds them, transporting them to some already known or imaginary environments or, to take them to unknown sound spaces that they cannot relate with anything known, make them to be influenced by what they are, conscientiously or not, hearing, what is more interesting to me.

At my stay at Hooyong Performing Arts Centre I was trying some different experiments with sound to see what kind of sound spaces I can build, including some related to the sound environments of, or those that surround Hooyong, playing with them to transform them into something new. I invite you to see what does sound is, and to hear with new ears what I found on my way.

"Whats the mom waiting for?" project

I do research in Hooyong village which is very beautiful and quiet village with around 200 houses and almost old people live here. The life here is seem very peaceful, people work in the farm and spend spare time to gather in front of someones house for chatting, playing games, drinking and sharing foods. Young local people, they moved to cities to study, work, and get more better life. Adults brought their children with them to the cities to get better education and better care from themselves and society.

By the reasons,  the village to be very quiet without children and social activities.

The schools are abandoned. Business and social offices seem dont exist here. My first trip to visit the village was very nice. I met a group of grandmothers who was sitting on the "Pyeong Sang" that is a big stage to welcome people and gathering ( that normally puts outside of the house). They kindly invited me to share their drinking and tried to communicate to me without language.

I got the idea for my researching that wanted to understand and know what about "Pyeong Sang and public culture in Hooyongri village" nowadays. What is the meaning of the meeting on Pyeong Sang and the way people share and think about it? How it to be important and go through into their life as a part of culture?

About "Whats the mom waiting for?" project, I borrow 20 "Pyeong Sang" from the village people and install them in the big yard of Nottle ( the spaces been a primary school before but now transformed into a public space where brings artists come to live and practice art) , Then I invite the old woman who owner of "Pyeong Sang"come and share their space and their life on the state.

By showing the private, real life on stage as stories, drinking, food it shows a problem as two side of one coin that we are desiring a more comfortable life but in the same time losing a part of emotion.
